null Project ASPires-GEO

Environmental protection is crucial to the existence of mankind.

Forests are the main source of oxygen and the main "processing plant" for carbon dioxide. The treatment of harmful carbon emissions from forests and their conversion to oxygen is a gift from nature that must be preserved and protected.

CIUU is working on a project called ASPires-GEO. The project started in 2017 with the financial support of the European Commission. CIUU was part of the National Cluster for Intelligent Transport and Energy Systems (NCITES).

CIUU has made a significant contribution to the development of a theoretical model for data analysis in the construction of discrete stationary forest fire protection systems.

In 2019, the project was successfully completed. Today, work continues. The team employs specialists from the companies INTEPRO Solutions, TEKO. The project involves leading specialists from the Technical University-Sofia, coordinated through CIUU.

What is our purpose?

Our goal is to build a system that is 100% non-human. The system must survey forest areas using specialized cameras. Research data are dynamic and stored in a centralized system. The developed theoretical model will allow the development of software for intelligent early-stage forest fire detection. The fire alarm shall be sent to the competent authorities. Signal reliability is over 95%. The signal generation time is less than 300 seconds.
